Dubravka Turić is a director, screenwriter and editor. She graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Art at the Zagreb University, Croatia.
After a successful career as a film editor, she wrote and directed her first short Belladonna, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival 2015, winning the Golden Lion – Orizzonti Award for Best Short Film. Belladonna was also in the official selection at the Sundance, Rotterdam and many other festivals, and a candidate for the Best Short Film at the 88th Academy Awards.
Dubravka’s second short Cherries (Trešnje) was premiered at the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes 2017, and had a rich festival life around the globe, winning numerous awards.
Tina, her third short, was in the competition of Sarajevo Film Festival 2019.
Traces (Tragovi), her first feature film, premiered at Warsaw Film Festival in 2022. It has been screened and awarded at many festivals so far, and selected as the Croatian entry for the International Feature Film category at the 96th Academy Awards.
Dubravka is currently developing scripts for her second feature, Rhino (Nosorog), and a TV series Rumpus, which has won the Best Series Project Award of the CineLink Drama at Sarajevo Film Festival 2022.
Dubravka also edited more than thirty fiction, animated and experimental films, and worked as a screenwriter on many projects. She has won many awards for her work.
She is a member of the Croatian Freelance Artists’ Association and The Film Artists’ Association.
